The royal blue years

The Seahawks started in 1976 with a royal blue and forest green logo inspired by Kwakwaka'wakw art and royal blue home jerseys with silver helmets and pants. In 1983, when Chuck Knox became coach, the team moved TV numbers to the shoulders, worked the logo into the sleeve stripes and changed the facemask to blue. That 1983 design lasted until 2001 and is the base of the throwback worn today.

The 2002 redesign

In 2002 the team redesigned its uniforms as it moved to the NFC and opened Seahawks Stadium. The palette became Seahawks Blue, Seahawks Navy and lime green piping, and the helmets changed from silver to blue after a fan poll. Lime green became a nickname for the team's accent color, which is why fans still search for a "lime green Seahawks jersey."

The Nike era

Nike unveiled new designs in April 2012 with College Navy, Action Green and Wolf Grey, and silver helmets returned. A Wolf Grey alternate arrived in December 2012. The all-Action Green Color Rush debuted in 2016. The team won Super Bowl XLVIII in the 2013 season and Super Bowl LX in the 2025 season, both in the Nike set.

Throwbacks and Rivalries

The throwback inspired by the 1983–2001 design arrived in 2023. The NFL and Nike's Rivalries program added an iridescent green uniform in 2025, and a white version of the throwback is scheduled for 2027. In 2026 the team wears the royal blue throwback three times and the Rivalries uniform once.
