History of the blue Panthers jersey
Carolina's first uniforms in 1995 included a blue jersey in "process blue." The blue alternate returned in 2002 and has stayed in the rotation since. In 2015 the team wore an all-blue Color Rush set against Dallas on Thanksgiving. SportsLogos noted a change to the shade of blue in 2023, which is why a light blue Carolina Panthers jersey and a darker Panthers blue jersey can look different from year to year, so check the product photo.
When do the Panthers wear blue?
The blue alternate is a home look in 2026. The team's release says it will pair with black pants, black socks and the black alternate helmet in Week 1 against Chicago. For game-by-game details see the Carolina Panthers jerseys 2026 guide.

Many fans own black first and add blue for the Buccaneers and Saints games. The Carolina Panthers uniform history shows how the blue changed over time.
