An AZ Cardinals black jersey first arrived with the third jerseys unveiled on April 22, 2010. Black alternate helmets were revealed on July 24, 2022. The 2023 uniforms, unveiled April 20, 2023, made black the alternate: red and silver striping on the shoulders and pants, silver number outlines, and permission to wear it in two regular-season games. The helmet stays white with a silver facemask.
When do the Cardinals wear black?
In 2026 Arizona wears black in Week 5 against the Lions (October 11) and Week 12 against Washington (November 29), per a search summary of Arizona Sports' uniform schedule. See the Arizona Cardinals jerseys 2026 guide for the rest.
Black next to red and white
The black jersey is the rarest of Arizona's three looks: red and white are the everyday colors and black appears in only two games. Many fans own red first and add black for a second jersey. Compare the Cardinals home jerseys and the Cardinals away jerseys, and read the Arizona Cardinals uniform history for how the alternate developed.
