About the Lions alternate jersey

The Lions alternate jersey list also includes the throwback that became the permanent alternate in 2009. The black Motor City Muscle jersey has Honolulu blue numbers and silver-trimmed stripes. Defend the Den is mostly white with Honolulu blue accents, DETROIT above the number and carbon-fiber-inspired numerals, and it comes with white or gray pants and an alternate blue helmet, according to media reports.

Detroit unveiled Defend the Den on August 25, 2026. Most reports say it is worn once, at home against the Vikings on November 1, though WXYZ reported a second wearing on December 20 in Minnesota. A blue alternate helmet with the 1960s logo debuted on June 21, 2023.
