Seahawks Hall Of Famers: Canton and Team Honors
Posted by JerseyZenith on Oct 27th 2026
- Cohort: 14 player connections plus 1 organizational members, 15 individuals counted once.
- Canton membership checked October 27, 2026; table years are official classes, not necessarily ceremony years.
- Team recognition: Seahawks Ring of Honor; a dash follows the explanation in the article.
- Franchise jersey numbers identify historical use; early careers may have additional season-specific numbers.
Seattle’s national Hall connections include lifelong Seahawks, substantial multi-team careers and very short late-career visits. All qualify under the official team list, but the table labels those differences instead of presenting them as equivalent Seattle achievements.

What qualifies for the Seattle cohort?
The cohort is the official Seahawks Pro Football Hall of Fame page, including documented postseason participation. Its 14 players and Flores are listed once each. Hester joined for the 2016 postseason, played two playoff games in January 2017 and made no Seattle regular-season appearance. That is why his row uses a season label with an explicit postseason note rather than implying a full year of Seahawks play. The cohort follows the official team’s featured national Hall list. Other organizational working relationships do not automatically add another member to this source-defined count.
Canton’s older Team Greats page still says 13 and omits Hester and Freeney. The current Seahawks page includes both Class of 2024 players, so the guide follows that updated team source. Freeney played four Seattle regular-season games in 2017. Their Hall credentials rest on full careers across the league, and this affiliation table does not assign all of those achievements to Seattle.
Coaches, owners and contributors counted separately
| Member | Role | Franchise tenure | Canton induction class | Seahawks Ring of Honor year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tom Flores | President/GM/coach | 1989–1994 | 2021 | — |
The long Seattle careers and the shorter connections
Largent, Kennedy and Jones provide long franchise-only careers; Easley’s shorter but exceptional Seattle career supplies another central defensive reference. Hutchinson began his NFL career with the Seahawks before moving elsewhere. Mawae also started in Seattle, while Moon and Randle arrived after establishing national reputations with other teams.
Harris, Rice, James, Eller and the two 2024 additions make the boundary especially useful. A brief Seattle appearance is enough for this source-defined membership list, but it says little by itself about a player’s place among the best Seahawks players of all time. That editorial comparison gives credit only for Seattle performance.
Numbers also require a team-specific check. Harris wore 34 in Seattle, not his familiar Pittsburgh 32. Eller wore Seattle 71, and Mawae’s Seahawks number was 62. Kennedy’s 99 commemorated Jerome Brown during the 1992 season, alongside the 96 most associated with his career. The table identifies Seattle numbers and does not copy the best-known number from another club.
Ring of Honor membership is a separate decision
The Seahawks Ring of Honor recognizes contributions to the organization on and off the field. Largent, Easley, Kennedy and Jones belong to both that program and Canton; the table records their Ring years. A dash means no entry in the official Ring roll reviewed for this guide, rather than a statement about the quality of the player’s Seattle career.
Other Ring members are not Canton inductees. Alexander, for example, can be a major franchise honoree without appearing in the national membership table. The two lists overlap but should never be added to calculate a total of national Hall members. The Seahawks jersey numbers guide covers retired numbers, including the fans’ 12, which is not a player membership.
Canton induction columns use the official class year. Hutchinson and James belong to the Class of 2020 even though that class’s ceremony occurred in 2021. Selection year, ceremony date, Ring induction and number retirement remain distinct historical events.
Throwback jerseys and the legends’ legacy
A Largent-era look recalls the expansion franchise; Easley, Kennedy and Jones point to different forms of sustained excellence. Use the Seahawks throwback collection and the legends jersey collection to compare an era before assuming a particular individual product exists.
Read the actual Nike listing for number and edition details. A modern item with a historic name may honor that player without recreating a specific season’s uniform. For a short-term Seattle member, also verify that the number belongs to the Seattle stint rather than the team most associated with his national career.
Frequently asked questions
How many Seattle Seahawks Hall of Famers are listed?
The updated official Seahawks list has 15 individuals under its broad affiliation rule: 14 players and Flores. One player, Hester, participated only in the postseason. The dated Canton list of 13 misses Hester and Freeney.
Was Devin Hester a regular-season Seahawk?
No. His Seattle participation was in the 2016 postseason, played in January 2017. Including him requires a cohort rule that permits postseason-only affiliation, which this guide states explicitly.
Is every Seahawks Ring of Honor member in Canton?
No. Ring membership is a separate franchise decision and recognizes additional careers and organizational contributions. Only the overlapping Canton members belong in this national membership table.
Why does Franco Harris have number 34 here?
That was his Seattle number. His better-known Steelers number was 32, illustrating why a multi-team biography cannot supply a franchise jersey number without checking the specific tenure.
