Why do the Cowboys wear white at home?
Dallas has worn white at home since the 1960s, unlike most teams. The Cowboys' own site says former president and general manager Tex Schramm wanted home fans to see a variety of jerseys, and white also helped in the Texas heat. ColorWay Sports notes that under NFL rules the home team picks first and usually chooses its dark jersey, so Dallas wears navy only on the road when the host wears white.
Fans called the navy jerseys the "beat-em blues" because Dallas struggled in navy in the playoffs. The team went 1–6 in playoff games in navy until a 2022 Wild Card win over Tampa Bay and is now 2–6, according to Dallascowboys.com.

White Cowboys jerseys

Navy Cowboys jerseys
Navy is the road alternative. The Cowboys navy away jersey appears in three road games in 2026. At Indianapolis on November 8, the team lists navy jerseys with white helmets, a combination that debuted last Christmas, according to Sports Illustrated.
Color Rush and alternate jerseys
The Cowboys' Color Rush uniform debuted in 2015 with silver helmets. Dallas added arctic white helmets in 2022. Today it is an all-white look with navy twin stars on the shoulders and navy numbers. The Thanksgiving Classic throwback

Is there a black Cowboys jersey?
No. The team's 2026 uniform schedule lists white, navy, Color Rush and Classic. Black Cowboys jerseys you see for sale are fashion colorways. They are good for casual wear, but they are not what Dallas plays in.
Cowboys Rivalries jerseys
The NFL and Nike's Rivalries program gives teams an alternate jersey for a division game each year over three years. The AFC East and NFC West began in 2025, and the AFC South and NFC North followed in 2026. The NFC East, including Dallas, joins in 2027. The team has not revealed its design.

What changed from 2025
The Cowboys did not redesign their home or road jerseys for 2026. The team's schedule shows the same white-first approach and the same Classic throwback on Thanksgiving. What changed is the roster: Pickens, acquired in May 2025, is now on a franchise tag, and Downs is the new first-round rookie. A jersey bought last year still matches the home and road designs.
