What each color is used for

The Houston Texans colors are Deep Steel Blue, Battle Red and Liberty White. Owner Bob McNair named all three when he unveiled the team in 2000. Deep Steel Blue is the very dark blue of the home jersey and the helmet, Battle Red is the trim and the alternate, and Liberty White is the road jersey.

"Texans jersey colors" searches also lead to H-Town Blue, a lighter blue that the team added to the navy alternate in 2024 and to the 2026 Rivalries jersey. We found no published HEX for it.

How the colors changed

The Texans began play in 2002. The helmet was white at first and later changed to dark blue. A red alternate jersey arrived in 2003, red pants in 2007, and the April 2024 redesign added a navy alternate with H-Town blue accents. The Houston Oilers’ Columbia blue and red belong to the Titans, whose owners kept the Oilers colors. See the Texans uniform history.

A note on the color codes
