- Cohort: 33 player connections plus 3 organizational members, 36 individuals counted once.
- Canton membership checked October 27, 2026; table years are official classes, not necessarily ceremony years.
- Team recognition: Packers Hall of Fame; a dash follows the explanation in the article.
- Franchise jersey numbers identify historical use; early careers may have additional season-specific numbers.
Green Bay has a national Hall story and its own franchise Hall story. The two overlap heavily, but their membership, dates and purpose differ; this reference makes the national cohort and its shorter affiliations explicit.

Green Bay Packers Hall of Famers: how many Packers are in the Hall of Fame?
Green Bay Packers in the Hall of Fame include both featured franchise representatives and shorter ties. Packers in the Hall of Fame receive national recognition from the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The official Packers national Hall page identifies 29 featured individuals and names seven additional short-term players: Ford, Hendricks, Kiesling, McMichael, Peppers, Stenerud and Tunnell. Together they form the 36-person cohort here. The first table contains 33 player connections, while Lambeau, Lombardi and Wolf are grouped separately for their organizational roles. Lambeau also played, but he is counted only once.
Canton’s dated Team Greats list says 34 and omits the Packers ties of McMichael and Peppers, both Class of 2024 members. The team’s own explicit additional-player list resolves that gap. The numbers are documented Green Bay numbers; for early careers with frequent changes, a representative number is shown rather than a claim of one unchanging jersey throughout the entire tenure.
Coaches, owners and contributors counted separately
| Member | Role | Franchise tenure | Canton induction class | Packers Hall of Fame year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Curly Lambeau | Founder/player/coach | 1919–1949 organizational tenure | 1963 | 1970 |
| Vince Lombardi | Coach/GM | 1959–1968 | 1971 | 1975 |
| Ron Wolf | Executive | 1991–2001 | 2015 | 2000 |
Three championship eras and their national recognition
Hubbard, McNally, Michalske, Herber, Hinkle and Hutson connect the list to the early championship period. Two-way responsibilities and shorter schedules make their roles unlike those of modern specialists. The table therefore keeps position and tenure next to the induction class rather than asking a modern statistic to explain every career.
The Lombardi-era offense and defense supplied another concentration of future inductees, from Starr and Hornung to Adderley, Nitschke and Wood. Favre, White, Butler and Charles Woodson represent later national recognition. Sharpe’s Class of 2025 induction is included. A current star, however accomplished, does not join the Canton list until actually elected and inducted under the relevant class.
The Packers Hall of Fame is the franchise institution
The final column identifies induction into the Packers Hall of Fame, using the official team roll. It is a separate organization with many additional honorees. Stenerud’s relatively short Green Bay career still earned team recognition, showing why a dash cannot simply be inferred from tenure length. A dash indicates no entry in the reviewed team roll, not a verdict about the player’s national credentials.
Selection and ceremony dates also require care. Butler is Canton Class of 2022 and Dillon Class of 2020; the latter class’s ceremony moved to 2021. Charles Woodson’s team Hall class is 2020, while his Canton class is 2021. Those different institutions and dates should not be collapsed into one event.
Retired numbers are another team decision entirely. Use the Packers jersey numbers guide for that policy rather than treating this membership table as a list of numbers removed from circulation.
Throwback jerseys and the legends’ legacy
Hutson’s 14, Starr’s 15 and White’s 92 point to different Green Bay chapters. Compare the Packers throwback collection with the legends jersey collection while checking which era an actual product describes. A Hall name alone does not establish availability.
For a modern Nike listing, inspect the edition, number and design details together. An era-inspired garment can honor the player without reproducing every historical cut or material.
Frequently asked questions
Why are there 29 featured Packers but 36 in this guide?
The Packers list 29 featured national inductees and explicitly name seven additional players with shorter Green Bay ties. The broad cohort includes both groups and separates 33 player connections from three organizational members.
Why does Canton’s older team page say 34?
Its dated list does not include McMichael and Peppers among the Green Bay ties. Both are verified Class of 2024 inductees and are named by the Packers as additional national Hall players.
Are Packers Hall of Fame players automatically in Canton?
No. The franchise Hall includes many additional contributors. Team induction and national election use different processes and may occur in different years.
Does the table show every number an early Packer ever wore?
No. It supplies a documented Green Bay number, or verified multiple numbers where relevant. Early players often changed numbers; a complete season-by-season number index is a different reference project.
