The helmet with no logo

The most noted fact about the Browns logo is that the helmet has none. From 1946 the helmet was white, from 1952 orange with a white stripe, and from 1961 orange with a brown-white-brown stripe. Brown numbers sat on the helmet from 1957 to 1960, and in 1965 NFL Creative Services designed a brown "CB" logo that was never used in a game.

Script wordmark and the return (1975 to 2005)

The script wordmark was the primary logo from 1975. It was modernized when the franchise resumed play in 1999 and stayed the main mark through 2002. A commemorative logo marked the 1999 return, and a 60th-anniversary logo came in 2006.

The 2015 update and the dawg (2015 to now)

The Browns introduced current logos and wordmarks on February 24, 2015. The brown facemask came with the same update. For 2022 to 2024 a Brownie elf logo was at midfield after a fan poll, and it reverted to the helmet logo for 2025, though the elf remains on perimeter banners. The "dawg" secondary logo, a bull mastiff designed by Houston Mark, arrived in 2023.

The helmet was orange with brown-white-brown stripes from 1961 (white in 1946–1949 and brown numerals in 1957–1960). The facemask was white from 1975, gray again in 2006, brown in 2015 and white again in 2024. Alternate helmets: the white "White Out" in 2023 and the matte brown "Alpha Dawg" in 2025.
