The original look (1995–2011)
The Panthers' first uniforms, in 1995, used white, black and blue jerseys with white and silver pants. The team chose a "process blue." In 1998 the team first wore white jerseys with silver pants, against the Colts. The 1995 wordmark remained in use until 2011, and the franchise added the blue alternate jersey in 2002.
The Nike and all-black years (2012–2021)
In 2012 the Panthers changed their logo and wordmark for the first time and Nike became the NFL's supplier. The same season Carolina paired black jerseys with black pants for the first time, against the Broncos. Fans voted the all-black uniform the "Greatest Uniform" in July 2013, and the team said it would wear it more. Carolina wore it three times in 2014. In 2015 it debuted an all-blue Color Rush set on Thanksgiving against Dallas. Nike's Vapor Untouchable uniforms arrived in 2019 with only small changes. Over time, the team mixed and matched pieces often. The "Keep Pounding" phrase for Sam Mills was added to the collar.
The modern Panthers (2022 to now)
In 2022, after the NFL allowed alternate helmets again, Carolina added a secondary black helmet with no white on the logo. A SportsLogos note says the team adjusted its blue in 2023. In 2024 the team wore 14 combinations. In 2026 it will not wear white at home for the first time, wearing blue three times and black six times at home or on the road as scheduled. Looks you can wear today
We do not have a dedicated Panthers throwback page. The closest retro looks are the blue and black styles: shop the Panthers alternate jersey, the black jerseys, the home and away styles. For the numbers behind each era, read the Carolina Panthers jersey numbers guide. Nike has made the NFL's uniforms since 2012, which is why the modern looks above share a template.
