What the uniform looks like
The jersey is navy with orange numbers outlined in white. The helmet and pants are orange, and the socks are navy with orange stripes, according to Sports Illustrated. The helmet carries the logo the Bears used from the 1940s until 1961, a football with "Chicago" across it. Packers Wire describes the uniform as a mix of throwback elements with a "Monsters of the Midway" theme. The Bears have worn the Monsters of the Midway nickname since the 1940s.
A patch with history
ColorWay Sports and Wikipedia both say the uniform has a replica of the 1983 GSH patch on the front, the tribute to founder George Halas. Bears fans will recognize it. The usual GSH patch sits on the left sleeve, but the front version is the one tied to this uniform.
What the Rivalries program is
Rivalries is the NFL and Nike program that gives teams alternate jerseys for division matchups. The Bears join the program in 2026. Other teams, such as the Seahawks and Patriots, joined in 2025. The Packers also wear a new alternate uniform in this rivalry, a muted green jersey with an off-white helmet that they wore in Week 5, according to Packers Wire.
Christmas Day on Netflix
The Packers–Bears game is part of a Christmas Day slate that streams on Netflix, along with Bills–Broncos, according to an NFL.com and FantasyNerds summary. ESPN lists the Bears game at 1 p.m. ET on Friday.
Soldier Field
The Bears have played at Soldier Field since 2003, and also from 1971 to 2001, according to Wikipedia. The Bears usually wear navy there, so the orange helmet and pants are a break from their usual home look.
A rivalry already in progress
Chicago is 5-2 after seven games, according to ESPN. In Week 5 the Packers beat the Bears 31–7 at Lambeau Field while wearing their own new alternate uniform. The Christmas Day game is Chicago's first home game against the Packers this year, and it is the first time the Bears wear the Rivalries design. Bear Report says the uniform will be in the rotation for three seasons.
Wearing it on game day
Fans pair the Rivalries style with a current player. The Caleb Williams jersey (No. 18) is the quarterback's. For every date and color this season, see the Bears jerseys 2026 guide.
The Bears and Packers both play in the NFC North, and Chicago's away jersey stays white, so the navy Rivalries uniform is a one-game special. Fans say "da Bears" and wear whatever shows their team; the Bears have won nine league titles, including Super Bowl XX. Shop Nike Game or Limited styles on the Chicago Bears page.
