Why 1994
The 1994 San Francisco team finished 13–3, beat Dallas 38–28 in the NFC Championship game and beat the San Diego Chargers 49–26 in Super Bowl XXIX, according to Wikipedia. Steve Young was the game MVP, with a Super Bowl–record six touchdown passes. That season the 49ers got NFL permission to wear red jerseys and solid red socks for the rest of the year after their Week 9 bye, and they went 15–1 in those uniforms, including the playoffs.
