What are the Minnesota Vikings colors?

The Minnesota Vikings colors are purple, gold and white. Searches for "Vikings purple color" and "MN Vikings colors" mean the same set. Purple is the home jersey and helmet color, gold is the trim and white is the road jersey.

Minnesota Vikings color codes: where they come from

We could not find a public brand guide from the Minnesota Vikings or the NFL with color codes. The codes in the table come from a third-party site, Team Color Codes or the source named in the Sources list, so treat them as a close reference, not an official spec. If you print or paint with these colors, check them against the team's licensed materials. White is listed without a code on these sources.

How the Vikings colors changed

Karl Hubenthal designed the horned helmet and purple-and-gold uniforms in 1961. The Vikings first wore all purple on October 11, 1964. A white helmet came with the Winter Warrior alternate in 2024, and the classic uniform in 2026 uses a deeper purple than the modern primary. For the full timeline see the Minnesota Vikings uniform history.

HEX, RGB and Pantone: what the codes mean

A HEX code, such as the ones above, is a six-character web color. RGB gives the same color as red, green and blue values from 0 to 255. Pantone (PMS) is a printing system, and a "C" after the number means the color is matched for coated paper. Use HEX or RGB for screens and a Pantone number when you talk to a printer. The same Vikings color can look different on a jersey, in a logo and on a screen, because fabric, light and the display change how it reads.

Matching Vikings gear with other colors

When you pair Vikings gear with other clothes, keep one team color dominant and let the others act as accents. Neutral white, gray or black layers work with most Vikings jersey colors. A jersey in the team's main color is the easiest base. If you are comparing two Vikings jerseys, look at which color the trim and numbers use, since that decides what shoes and caps match. These are style suggestions, not team guidance.
