How the colors changed

The Falcons began in 1966 with red helmets, a black falcon crest and gold and white helmet stripes, which Wikipedia says stood for Georgia’s red and black and Georgia Tech’s white and gold. Red replaced black as the main jersey in 1971, black helmets and silver pants came in 1990, and red became primary again in 2004.
